Thrive Factor School – A Letter and an Invitation

Thrive Factor School | Archetype Profiling Training | Certification Program | Business Women | Coaching Training | Personality Profile Training

Is it time to add a new dimension to your business?
A letter from me to you...

Dearest wise one

Thank you for taking the time to read as I share with you some of what I’ve been dreaming about – something that comes to life as Thrive Factor School. Before I do that I need to let you know I have been waiting patiently for years to be able to share this with you. I have dreamed about you so often and spent countless hours imagining what the future will hold with you, out there in the world, sharing the Thrive Factor with other women like yourself.

I know you’re a fiercely determined woman with a big heart. You have a huge desire to be a vehicle for change in the world. These are some of the many reasons you started your business – to make changes and to do so with heart.

Perhaps your vision was to change your life or those of your clients.
Perhaps it was to change your community, your country or even the world at large.

The size and reach of your desire is not what matters to me. How big or bold your dreams are do not matter. Your commitment to bringing your dreams to life and to be the change you desire to be is what matters. It is no small thing to change someones life or business for the better, but that is what you already do. And you’re ready for more.

Here is a little more I know about youyou know a lot – you are a smart, capable individual and you love to learn and share what you know

>> you’re optimistic and realistic all at the same time

>> you see the good in other people and you love it when they see what is possible too

>> you are generous and kind – because you care about people

>> you are a delightful person to be around and even on your grumpy days others value your integrity and genuine approach, plus all that wisdom you’ve got in spades

>> you are also loved for the willingness you have to champion the people you believe in

>> you adore your business and even on the toughest of days you couldn’t imagine throwing it all in because the alternative isn’t worth considering

>> you have an existing engaged community of loyal people who value you and find inspiration and motivation in the way you show up and deliver ALL of you in your work

In fact there are so many glorious things to say about you, but because you’re so humble and not one to tall poppy yourself, you’d rather focus on sharing the limelight with others.

Thrive Factor Invitation Letter | Archetypal Profile Training | Archetype Training Certification | Shannon Bush | Creative Possibility | Women in business

Thrive Factor School could be the missing link in your business! Ready to totally thrive?

But…

isn’t there always a but?

You feel completely ready to add a new dimension to your business and have either been searching for something, or trusting the “right” opportunity would come your way.

Awesome! I’ve got something for you.

If you’ve been a part of the Creative Possibility world for some time you probably know about the Thrive Factor Archetypal Framework. I’m honoured, excited, emotional even… to bring you an inspiring learning opportunity that is a first! (sound intriguing Inspirer Believers? Pioneer Seekers? Visionary Creators? Mentor Teachers?)

Starting June this year an inaugural group of women will join me for a 6 month foundational program to learn the art of profiling, the Thrive Factor way. It’s what Thrive Factor School is all about.

So if you are leading a business currently and looking to add something new to your work, then you can grab a copy of the student prospectus for Thrive Factor School below. Once you have it you’ll receive all you need to evaluate this opportunity and to secure an application interview during the application window from now until 10th May only.

Each has shared in their application form (yes, there’s an extensive but easy to complete form to book your interview!) their beautiful and inspired visions for weaving Thrive Factor profiling into their businesses. I’m not one to cry that often but some of what I’ve read has led to a few happy tears, particularly as I’ve read about their personal transformations and positive differences to their lives and businesses for knowing their Thrive Factor archetypes. My favourites have been along the lines of “knowing this information has changed my life and business for the better and I cannot wait to share this gift with other women.”

Why I Am Allergic To The Word Hustle & A Business Hustle Antidote

Are you so busy hustling you've lost focus of what is really important and struggling to get clear in the sea of blur you find yourself in?

Business Hustle Allergy | Shannon Bush Business Coach Perth Australia | lost in the hustle

Hustle.

Hustle.

Hustle.

Yeah… nah!

Honestly I think I read or heard this word shared a bazillion times last year and for every one of those time I felt a physical reaction. Shivers. Skin crawling. Tightness in my chest like I couldn’t breathe. Frustration. Annoyance. Physical and emotional responses you’d expect in an allergic reaction.

It is not a word that works for me. In fact I avoid it as much as possible and I am going to tell you why.

In a nutshell it is the opposite to every single thing I stand for. It creates an image of working waaaaaaaay to hard. It makes me feel like I have to spend every waking moment taking big, bold action if I am going to get anywhere. It makes me feel like I’m not doing enough…

“Get with the hustle…”
“Hustle your way to success…”
“It is all in the hustle…”

Says who? I’d honestly like to know because I do not subscribe to the word and all it stands for. In fact I think it is discouraging and even patronising as a word to use to motivate any business owner to take action. I am not voting for more business hustle, or life hustle.

With a huge focus on making things easier in business I am a lover of building confidence and resilience, taking action after considered planning, working with the best mentors you can find who will support you, not berate you when they decide what you are doing isn’t enough.

That is not ok.

It happens out there in the business world all the time.

Doesn’t mean it is ever going to be ok.

In all the years I’ve coached, taught and mentored business owners and worked with psychology (decades now) I know from personal experience that setting someone up to work hard can get results. Doing that in a way that implies they are not enough does not get results.

I do not exactly know why, but the use of the word hustle conjures up thoughts and feelings of not enough. Like it is somehow a label dictating you must do more, push more, be more, and keep flogging yourself until you get somewhere awesome. Then do it all again with more effort and more, dare I say, hustle!

Business Hustle Allergy | Shannon Bush Business Coach Perth Australia

To hustle: to push or force ones way!
To hustle: to try to persuade someone, especially to buy something, often illegally

I am true to my #MentorTeacher archetype and love to research to understand. When I googled the word hustle to explore its definition these are the words I found staring back at me;

“push roughly, jostle”

“swindle, fraud”

“obtain by forceful action”

Ok so I clearly see why my response is so allergic in nature each time I hear this word. Everything about those various definitions goes against the grain of who I am as a #LiberatorEngineer and #InspirerBeliever. Those two archetypes are about freedom and lifting others up. They are about doing things easier and celebrating action and success and knowing it is deserved in all its forms. They are also about doing less to achieve more, riding on the waves of excitement and actively using your strengths to create more effortlessness.

I looked for pictures related to the word hustle because I love a visual understanding of things too. All I saw were pics of people racing around, jostling to get ahead, struggling to crack the success ceiling, frustrated faces blurring through rush hour crowds, lost souls seeking connection and recognition.

Yeah more evidence for me to repel from all hustle. Don’t get me wrong. I work my butt off to achieve what I achieve. I put in the hours. I get results. I learn from the challenges I face or the mistakes I make.

I value every single day I get to lead a business.

I value my choices and my actions and know they lead to the results I experience. I get fristrated. I feel overwhelmed just like the rest of you. Yet I refuse to align myself with the business hustle or life hustle.

The daily grind hustle.

The side hustle.

The everyday hustle.

The focused hustle.

The get sh!t done hustle.

Business hustle like all the hustles just scream “too busy”, “too much”, “I don’t have time for me, or you, or anyone”, “I have to push, push, push” and so many more things that are overwhelming my head as I write this article.

I feel tired. Is it time for a nap to escape the business hustle for a moment?

If you listen to the hustle subscribers no naps are allowed. You are too busy!

Business Hustle Allergy | Shannon Bush Business Coach Perth Australia | lost in the hustle | simplicity

If you're not hustling, then what are you doing?
The business hustle antidote exists!

So I’ve gone on a lot about why the whole business hustle, or in fact just hustle doesn’t work for me.

True. But all that had a point.

I hope it got you thinking about what you’re really saying when you’re talking life hustle, family hustle, side hustle, business hustle, any hustle.

In place of this way of referencing your amazing commitment and how hard you might work I’d like to suggest you try using different language.

Language that focuses on the pure simplicity of support, mostly focused on your support of YOU!

Talk about your accomplishments. Start with the little things. Be your own cheerleader. Give credit where credit is due.

Celebrate all the wins.

Do so loudly.

Regularly.

Fiercely even.

Look at welcoming a state of simplicity by welcoming in a state of ease. Of effortlessness. Of flow and momentum. Do this by remembering you have choices to make, choices about your response, your actions, your beliefs.

Choose YOU. Don’t choose hustle.

The Thrive Factor Book Banner 1

What is the Amazon #1 Best-selling book The Thrive Factor about? The Thrive Factor book includes 12 personal leadership Archetypes for women in business, providing valuable information for each archetype on its expression of mindset, marketing, money and magnetism.

You Thriving Is My Agenda

Shannon Bush Creative Possibility | The Thrive Factor Book | Business Archetypes for women

With the recent release of my new book The Thrive Factor, writing has been something I have been doing a lot of lately. A couple of weeks back I felt compelled to share something I felt totally needed sharing. I did so in my awesome Facebook group for women in business, The Thriving Entrepreneur Circle. > you can join here if you like and read the post!

Well what I shared rang true for a lot of the Thrivers in the group and i also had a bit of a realisation. I haven’t been sharing much written work here on my blog so I am planning to do more of that moving forward. I have loads to say. Loads to share and what better place to do so in the written word that right here hey?

So between the numerous podcast episodes and sharing of the amazing business women in my community, you’ll find more mindset, money, marketing and magnetism focused articles from me.

And as I embark on a new manuscript (already underway) I’ll share how that is progressing and what it’s all about.

Stay tuned. For now, I hope what you read below inspires you to get out of your own darn way and get on with thriving.

Creative Possibility Arrow Heart 1

You Thriving Is My Agenda...
It always has been!

You know what… when you get out of your own darn way and simply allow yourself to be MORE of who you are incredible things happen

when I first began pulling the pieces of the puzzle together to create what is now known as The Thrive Factor archetypal profiling framework in 2010 I had a very clear vision of my intention

I was determined to change women’s lives for the better

I wanted you to have more confidence
I wanted you to have more joy
I wanted you to know your purpose and to express it without needing permission from anyone
I wanted you to be more creative
To be more connected
I wanted you to love who you are
I wanted more curiousity, play and acceptance for you
I wanted you to connect with your innate potential and show it to the world
I wanted you to celebrate more
I wanted you to celebrate YOU more
I wanted you to know your effortless success zone and to choose to be in that space as much as you wanted and needed to
I wanted the world for you, and the stars and every cosmos beyond
I wanted friendship and connection for you
I wanted you to totally thrive

What do I want for you (and every woman in business – in fact on this planet) now?

All of the above personified. I want all of that for you but on a much bigger, bolder scale.

How can you create this and more for yourself?

Get out of your own darn way.

Choose effortlessness.

Choose to totally thrive.

Choose to discover your Thrive Factor

You do not need anyone’s permission
Make the commitment and make it happen

Big love

What is The Thrive Factor all about? 12 personal leadership Archetypes for women in business and how they impact your mindset, marketing, money and magnetism!

The Thrive Factor Book Launch is happening soon!

The Thrive Factor Book Cover | Shannon Bush | Creative Possibility | Business Women | Archetypes for women

Super excited to let you know about something very cool that is happening very soon. In fact in the next week or two…

My new book is launching!

After what seems like forever, this book is finally coming to life and the date my team and I are working towards is a Kindle launch for end of January 2019 swiftly followed by the launch of the paperback version.

The best way to be the first to hear how you can get your copy is to register your interest at www.thethrivefactorbook.com.au. We will send an email out as soon as we have more information, which should be very soon.

What’s the book about?  Well if you have followed me for any length of time you will know about the archetypal personal leadership framework I created in 2010 and 2011. It was featured in my Amazon best selling book in 2013, Personal Leadership Style.

Back then I was working with the archetypes with my female clients and focusing on their personal attributes, strengths and challenges. However I was nearly solely working with women in business and so began to map the things I was seeing repeated for each archetype in relation to mindset, marketing, money and magnetism. The information was consistently well received when I shared it with clients and participants in programs like Market To Thrive.

So in 2017 I began taking the dream of writing a new book and started to put the words together. It’s been a mamoth task that has involved many people and it is now so close to being no longer a dream, but a reality.

Over the last couple of years my fascination with thriving has also evolved and deepened/ It seemed only right to me to review what the framework was previously christened. So the archetypes are now referred to as the Thrive Factor Archetypes and this new book is all about you, as a business woman, getting to know yourself, unlocking your effortless success zone and totally thriving.

Cannot wait to hear what you think about it when you get to read it.

For now, though, head to www.thethrivefactorbook.com.au and register your interest.

Let’s get excited about thriving! Totally thriving!

Engaging Customers Doesn’t Just Have To Be About New Customers

Tired Of Looking For New Customers?
Are Your Staying Connected With ALL The Customers Already In Your Business?

Engaging Customers | Small Business Coach | Marketing Strategy | Perth | Australia | Shannon Bush Creative Possibility 1

Every business owner wants to know the strategy for engaging customers.

It’s been a month or so of very interesting conversations with small business owners in my network, including clients. I frequently find themes in these valuable interactions and recently there’s been an enthusiastic desire to attract more clients.

Reality for every business owner is we all need a regular stream of new customers or clients. It’s equality a reality this can be the biggest consistent challenge you face daily as a business owner.

I’m all ready to jump in and provide practical strategies to attract more customers, but I have found myself also bringing people back to something I see being missed. Missed all the time.

The question to ask at this point is “are you picking the low hanging fruit in your business?”

Let me explain why I ask, starting with what low hanging fruit refers to and why it matters.

Low Hanging Fruit by #businessyoda definition, is the easy pickings in your business. When I think what that might be I instantly think past and current customers and clients. It’s about engaging customers – or if you haven’t stayed in touch, re-engaging them

Why though? let me explain.

People you have already worked with already know you.

They probably also like you.

And you have built trust with them.

So the barriers (not a fav word of mine, but we are talking, things that could get in the eay) to them working with you again, or referring someone your way are lower than if you’re in the process of nurturing a prospect (someone looking for what you’re offering) along the steps to become a customer or client.

It takes a lot less energy, time, effort and expense to

  • re-engage a past client
  • offer them a new service or product you didn’t have when you worked together previously – be mindful the new offering MUST be of value to them before you share it
  • support these awesome people to refer to you

than it does to engage someone completely new into your business.

So how do you make this happen?

“Customers are assets to be cared for and nurtured” – Jeanne Bliss

Watch my recent Facebook Live about this very topic here!

Great question.

Here’s my top tips for reaching out and connecting with the low hanging fruit in your business

  1. Pick up the phone and give them a call
  2. Send an email to say hello
  3. Host a casual social event and invite a few people you know to join you
  4. Create a purposeful, value driven campaign to stay connected to past customers and clients (all of the above 3 steps are great things to include in your “campaign” BTW!

The most important part of the communication is to genuinely enquite how someone is and to ask if there’s something you can help them with.

Remember, these are people you know. You have worked with them. They’ve bought from you and possibly referred to you. Be personal and remember above all else, #peoplebuyfrompeople so be a human in your interaction.

With the number of sales pitches and all the repulsion marketing out there, be the person who stands out because you genuinely care. Let that lead the way and (in my experience), the rest of it becomes more effortless. Definitely magnetic to just be real and show you care.

Hope that helps? If you want to hear me chat about this in a short video I shared a Facebook Live on my business page recently. Have a watch.

p.s. the term “low hanging fruit” has been popular since the 1990’s and is often referred to as overuded business marketing speaK. I love a good cliche and can totally do a buzzword or four throwaround so I’ll keep using it 😉

Let me know what you think? what are you actively doing when it comes to engaging customers and clients you’ve worked with before?

When did you last reach out and say hello?

Comment below and let me know.

Healthy Comparison Or Tired Of The Whole Comparison Thing?

The Whole Comparison Thing | Healthy Comparison | Creative Possibility Business Coaching | Shannon Bush | Business Coaching Marketing Perth

Healthy Comparison or Struck Down With Comparisonitis - are you Tired of the Whole Comparison Thing?

OMGoodness I could get into a lengthy rant about this topic.

I spend far too much time talking with business owners who are crippling themselves because they continue to compare. Now I am all for healthy comparison, but when it stops you in your tracks the process is getting way to much attention.

In the past few months I have seen the following happen thanks to #comparisonitis

  • a program halted a week before kick-off, even though it was close to a sell out. The amazing leader decided it still wasn’t good enough, so she cancelled everything, refunded everyone and I’ve seen nothing from her since
  • a business owner threaten to close her business because she felt like someone else (whom she knew personally) had opened the same business
  • a successful and well regarded speaker cancel three speaking gigs because she didn’t think she measured up to the others on the bill
  • a highly experienced business man with decades of expertise in a niche field decide he should just give up because there was too much competition with new kids on the block offering competitive prices. He missed the point of his decades of expertise and the fact he wasn’t marketing that!

These are just the big ticket items I got to hear about, not the day to day comparison that gets hold of you and wreaks havoc with your confidence and motivation.

"Comparison is the thief of joy" Theodore Roosevelt

I have to agree Mr Roosevelt; well agree in most instances. I do know there are some occasions where comparison can be healthy and useful. I’ll get to those shortly.

Firstly, did you realise there was such a thing as Comparison Theory? It’s a psychological phenomenon with a social twist, which I am certain has been magnified with the rise of social media.

According to Psychology Today, “social comparison theory states that we determine our own social and personal worth based on how we stack up against others. As a result, we are constantly making self and other evaluations across a variety of domains (for example, attractiveness, wealth, intelligence, and success).”

Comparison Theory is attributed to psychologist Leon Festinger, who first wrote about it in 1954. I am certain it’s been a human condition for a lot longer than that though, don’t you?

As a business owner there are a few hundred opportunities for comparison every time you open social media. Spend a moment on Facebook and you’re bombarded with all the ins and outs of what everyone else is doing.

It seems as human beings we are hard wired to use all that information being thrown our way to determine if we are ok or not ok.

It frustrates me when comparison becomes a judgement practice.

I get it’s a real thing and I see how it can be healthy (read on) but in my experience it tends to do more damage than good. Not all comparison experiences are created equal. Yet comparison seems to pull us in and make us spend valuable time weighing things up to draw conculsions.

Conclusions that could be right. Or they could be very wrong.

Don’t be the little goldfish in a big bowl trying to work out why the goldfish in the bowl next to you looks so big and fabulous!

Health Comparison | Comparisonitis | Shannon Bush Business Coach Perth | Marketing Strategy | Mindset

Comparison; worth killer or a healthy motivator?

Comparison isn’t all bad and that’s something we can all do with remembering. Comoarison can be powerful in shaping your personal and business identity. It can be a motivation to improve yourself, give your self-esteem a healthy boost and it can assist with overall satisfaction with your accomplishments.

There is such a thing as healthy comparison. I know, because it’s the kind I choose to invest time in when swayed to compare.

How do you experience Health Comparison?

The way I see it, it all comes down to perception and mindset. View the world with a healthy lens and be willing to see things as factually as you can and you are in a great position to benefit from comparison.

I’d love to just say “ignore all that stuff you see!”

“Don’t be tempted to google and check out your competitors!”

“Stay away from your unsubscribe list!”

“Run, don’t walk, from the latest life changing share you just read on social media!”

But the thing is, I am a realist. I also believe knowing what your industry standards are is healthy, And I believe it’s smart to know what your competitors are up to.

Not to derail yourself and totally rewrite your sales page. Instead, to be informed and then be in a better position to choose the way you’re going to proceed. That’s healthy comparison at it’s best.

When you choose to use the comparing you naturally do as a motivator it can bring you focus and generate momentum to get on with the things you want to achieve in your business.

So next time you feel compelled to compare ask yourself one or more of the following questions

  • How can I use this to to motivate myself?
  • What am I already doing that is equally as awesome?
  • What can I learn from what I discovered?

Have fun comparing and use what you discover to your advantage! In my experience the best comparing I’ve done in business is with my self.
