Resistance. It’s a close second cousin to procrastination I reckon and it can suck the life out of what you’re trying to achieve. I think they have another close cousin called Fear.
Yesterday I shared my thoughts on procrastination and more importantly I shared a couple of ways you can overcome procrastination so that you can just get on with it (whatever that important project, venture or ‘thing’ is that you’re wanting to get done).
There are many things that create resistance to something. It might be a past experience that left a bad taste in your mouth. It might be a past experience where you didn’t achieve the success you wanted. Whatever it is it’s getting in the way of you being able to move forward with your current projects – personally and professionally.
All this can be detrimental to your business as you restrict yourself from being able to more forward or achieve what you desire. The best way to overcome resistance is to get real with yourself about what is causing it. Getting real, being honest, determining what’s really going on and doing so without judgement will help you to understand what’s happening. With understanding you can then make better choices and take the right imperfect action to move you forward in your pursuit.
Until next time, I wish you succulent, effortless success
