Visioning Life Resolutions

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day 2Visioning Life Resolutions

I have to be honest that as someone who works with people on their goals and achieving them (as effortlessly as possible of course), at this time of year there feels like an expectation that I should write something about goal setting, making new years resolutions, planning, intention setting, reflecting and so on and so on

The problem I have with that is that these activities are something I believe you should do regularly.  They are not just for the new year.  How can you expect to achieve what you want in life if you don’t regularly reflect, plan, take action and celebrate when you get the results you’ve worked for?  I don’t think you can.  Nothing happens by accident.  The outcomes you experience are a direct result of the effort you put in and the intention and planning around that.  It’s a wholistic process and experience in my opinion

Saying all that I noticed one very awesome term in a story I read on-line yesterday.  It was about making and visioning life resolutions, not just saving them for new year each year.  I loved how limitless that was and decided that my resolutions (the intentions I have and the committed action I’m going to take) are going to be life long, not just for the first few weeks of the coming year

My life resolutions are

1. To be a healthy person

2. To fill my days with colour and live

3. To make and sustain meaningful, purposeful, equal connections with dynamic, creative, inspiring people

4. To tell the people I love that I love them as much as possible

5. To release any limitations that are holding me back from living my own innate potential and realising the dreams I have for myself, my family, my clients, my community, my world

If you took 5 minutes right now to create 5 life resolutions what would they be?  Share yours below

2013: What Does It Mean To Me?

It’s the first day of the new year.  A time when people feel tired, a little worse for wear after celebrations the night before.  A time to reflect and to decide that things really are to be different this year.  Take a moment to think about your 2012 and all that happened in the past 12 months.  Use today and in fact the entire month of January to make conscious choices about how the next 12 months are going to be for you

I’m starting the year by participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge hosted by a dear friend Michelle Shaeffer (I had Michelle feature as a guest on last week’s podcast episode of my radio show – listen in here!) and her colleague Michele Scism – together they have been running 4 successful challenges each year teaching bloggers how to get their blogs to soar!

What does this mean?  It means I’ll be posting something every day for the coming month.  It’ll likely just be a short message on my reflections over the month as I take up my own challenge to make conscious choices about how the next 12 months are going to be for me in my life and business

Day 1: 2013 What Does It Mean To Me?Happy New Year

2013 is for me a fresh start.  I’ll be totally honest here, 2012 sucked for me in so many ways.  It also held some of the greatest opportunities for me to gain self understanding and on a professional level it was a successful year for me.  I achieved goals I didn’t really think I would, made and sustained some inspiring and powerful connections, worked with more and more committed, passionate, determined clients who saw abundant results in their own lives and businesses and so much more

That said I ended 2012 tired.  No, make that exhausted!

I am now excited about the prospects of the new year but wondering where to get the motivation, drive and determination I need to make it as successful as I know it has the potential to be.  So 2013 to me is all about self support.  It is about balancing my energy, taking time out when I know I need to, not when I fall in a heap.  It is about filling myself with nourishment – good food, plenty of activity, inspiring learning, saying yes to dynamite opportunities, connecting with people who speak my language and are willing to support me and receive my support in return.  It’s about loving and being loved.  It’s about colour and feeling fully alive each and every day.  It’s about things being effortless, easy, free and limitless

It’s going to be a great year.  I can just feel it!

Artful Business Conference Wisdom #1 – Busting Pricing Myths

I’m currently in sunny Brisbane on Australia’s East Coast attending The Artful Business Conference.  This first ever event for creative business owners has at Artful Biz Conference the end of day 1 offered an incredible array of inspiring and wisdom filled insights from the speakers from both Australia and the US.  I will in time attempt to process everything I have learnt and been reminded of so as to share my take-aways with you from this ground-breaking event.  Today I wanted to share what I believe was the first profound moment for me from today

This little bit of magic came courtesy of awesome jewellery designer and profit goddess Megan Auman (find out more about Megan’s business support here: http://designinganmba.com/pricing-for-profit/)

You are not your customers so don’t worry if you can’t afford your prices!

Why did this call out to me?

Because I’ve heard it as an excuse from many clients.  I’ve heard it from people I meet at networking events.  I have even heard myself say it when it comes to pricing goods and services.  I think it’s safe to say that for many business owners, particularly those who make creative products or those who are doing what they love and something that comes easy to them, find it challenging to ask and expect to be paid well for what they do or sell!

Why is it such a challenge to price something?  Why shouldn’t you value what you create enough to ask and expect to be rewarded well for it financially?  You should!

Megan shared a lot of wonderful content focused around her great passion of pricing for profit and even though she shared many different formulas that could have had the potential to leave the real right brainers in the room today feeling very puzzled I found her presentation fresh and empowering.  It’s simple really.  When it comes to pricing there are lots of myths to bust, potentially a lot of limiting beliefs to eliminate, but most of all it comes down to ensuring you factor profit into all your pricing!  that’s right…. PROFIT!

So my challenge to you this week is to look at your prices for everything you sell – all goods and services – and starting one at a time check to see how you’ve factored in profit.  Bet you haven’t.  Don’t worry… I’m off to review mine too (as soon as I get home)

Signing off from The Artful Business Conference with a promise to share more soon

Wishing you succulent, effortless success,

Graceful, Inspiring, Free…… Effortless Success

When I thought about what I wanted to achieve when I started my business I have to say that I didn’t really have great clarity.  What I did know though was how I wanted to feel.  I remember back to a time when I wrote down a few words about those feelings.  The one’s I still remember today were the words Graceful, Inspiring and Free
Most recently I have come to know these words and the other feelings I want to experience daily as something I call Effortless Success.  In it’s simplest form this is about doing less and achieving more.  That might be more free time, more clients, more income, more opportunities, more satisfaction, more joy.  In fact more of anything you want, need, desire and deserve.  It’s the sort of thing that you know you’ve nailed when you’re there.  Everything just falls into place and there is no room for the self doubt or disempowering beliefs that might ordinarily get in the way or stop you from having, doing, achieving, being and feeling how you really want to be

Last week I launched the Effortless Success Seminar and had the absolute pleasure of experiencing what this means first-hand.  The content for the event came together freely and easily.  It was Effortless Success in it’s purest form.  Why am I telling you this?  Well it’s not to brag.  Not at all.  I’m telling you because I want you to believe it’s possible for you to.  When you embrace your inner lead-HER and let her shine by working with her true strengths and archetypal leadership qualities you can achieve anything.  I really believe that and I aim to live that each day, every day

To sign off today’s article I just want to ask you to reflect on the following powerful question.  “What would be your definition of Effortless Success?”

Sometimes just writing out what you desire is a great place to start when it come’s to creating an inspiring, free life, gracefully, effortlessly, successfully

Love to know what you think about today’s article so please post your comments, questions and feedback below

Until next time I wish you succulent, effortless success!
